Open House: September 23

On Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CYFS is opening its doors to the community at Station 4-5 (300 Earl Stewart Drive, Aurora). Pop by for loads of fun fire safety activities, games and prizes, a ride on the Tim Hortons Express Train, a chance to meet Sparky the Fire Dog and so much more.

Fire Services Career Day: October 21

Are you considering a career in fire services? Fighting fires is only part of the role a fire department plays in the community, there are many important roles you can explore:

  • Firefighting, rescues, emergency management
  • Educating the public about fire safety
  • Inspecting buildings for fire safety measures
  • Investigating origin and causes of fires
  • Answering and dispatching 9-1-1 calls

On Saturday, October 21 CYFS in partnership with the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA), is hosting an all-day information session for parents, students or those considering a career shift to fire services to meet people in the industry, learn about the various roles and discover training options and career paths.
