Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for public fire safety education, inspection activities, fire investigations, code enforcement, and plans review. We provide fire safety education through information sessions and presentations to industry, businesses, organizations and community groups.

Central York Fire Services has six on-duty crews in the Suppression Division assigned to four fire stations. These crews staff five engines and one aerial platform firefighting apparatus. These six crews also have the availability of a tanker vehicle and a hazardous materials response vehicle with trailer for first run responses.

Emergency Preparedness
Emergencies and disasters can happen at any time. Utilities can be out, roads closed, and crucial supplies unavailable. While local, provincial and federal officials prepare for emergencies, individuals can plan to be prepared at home and at work.

Central York Fire Services is a full time fire department that provides protection to the Town of Aurora and the Town of Newmarket, in York Region, Ontario, Canada. CYFS serves a combined population of 146,000 and covers an area of 90 square kilometres. The department responds to approximately 5000 emergency calls each year. There are four divisions with 154 staff that operate out of four fire stations, two in Aurora and two in Newmarket.
