Fire Safety Inspections

The fire prevention division provides inspections upon complaint or request.

Inspections of properties are arranged and performed when complaints are received regarding the fire safety of a property.

Inspections are also performed when a request is made to assist a property owner or occupant to comply with the Fire Code and the involvement of the Chief Fire Official is required by the Ontario Fire Code.

Inspections are also performed when Central York Fire Services is aware of fire code infractions at a particular property.

When an inspection is conducted it includes notification of the property owner or responsible person and appropriate follow-up with enforcement, when necessary.

Requested inspections for licensing or other related purposes will have a fee related to the type of inspection requested.
